Festival of Iranian films underway in Paris

Notable among the screening lineup is ‘The Graveless’ by Mostafa Sayari, ‘Rona, Azim's Mother’ directed by Jamshid Mahmoudi, and ‘Hat Trick’ by Ramtin Lavafi. ۱۲th Tehran Intl. Sport Filmfest. slated for late June

Iran’s sport films festival, as the exclusive representative of the FICTS Sport Federation, is considered to be the entry festival for the Milan world competition. The festival is held to stage a contest between filmmakers and producers, spot young talents, and to introduce inspiring figures. ‘Light, Shadow, Life’ goes to Italian documentary filmfest.

Iranian documentary ‘Light, Shadow, Life’ directed by Shahriar Pourseyedian has been selected to participate in the official competition section of the 14th edition of Sole Luna Doc Film Festival, scheduled for July 7th to 13th in Palermo and Venice. Night of Masoud Kimiai to be held in Toronto

Organized by New Wave Artistic Group, the event will start by showing the documentary “The Last Hero,” by Javad Tousi, which is a fascinating insight into the life of Kimiai. Iranian Film Festival Cologne to kick off May 30

The festival, dedicated to Iranian cinema, will celebrate its sixth year from 30th May to 2nd June in the German city of Cologne. The lineup for this year’s festival includes Iranian features such as ‘Orange Days’, ‘The Paternal House’, ‘The Report of Yousefi’s Runaway’, ‘Reza’, and ‘Sheeple’. Tehran begins playing host to over 100 films at 37th FIFF

The 37th edition of Fajr International Film Festival opened at Felestin Cinema in downtown Tehran on Wednesday evening, with the screening of Ebrahim Hatamikia’s classic movie 'The Scout', originally released in 1990. The movie, which is also included in the Classics Preserved section of this year’s cinematic event, is set during the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq’s war, and tells the story of a young scout who joins the front-line to help his comrades single-handedly. FIFF to hold 15 academic sessions on cinematic topics

National and international university scholars and A-listers of the movie industry will discuss various topics during 15 academic sessions and panel discussions. This includes a session discussing 40 years of Iranian cinema after the victory of 1979 Islamic Revolution. Other programs include workshops on screenwriting, producing, directing, cinematography, editing and set design. The event, known as Iran's most anticipated international cinematic event, includes 109 titles from 75 countries in its screening program.
