Three Iranian shorts to vie at Leeds intl. filmfest.

Produced by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, ‘Retouch’ is the story of a young woman whose husband dies before her eyes while she cannot do anything but to witness this tragic scene.

‘Lunch Time’, directed by Alireza Ghasemi, narrates the story of a 16-year-old girl who has come to the hospital to identify the body of her mother. The people in charge at the hospital – due to her young age – won’t let her into the morgue.

‘Animal’ by Ark brothers tells the story of a man who wants to pass the border, disguises himself as a ram.

All three films have competed and won awards at several international festivals.

The 31st edition of Leeds International Film Festival will be held in Yorkshire, from November 2-16.
